Over the past couple of years, Geek Vape has managed to become the undisputed leader in both the disposable and refillable segments of the vaping industry – something that had never happened previously. The brand is so popular and so widely carried that you’re very likely to choose something from Geek Vape when you buy your first vaping product.
The only problem with Geek Vape devices is that they aren’t necessarily the easiest vapes for a first-time vaper to use. This isn’t an issue unique to the Geek Vape brand – it’s just the way the modern vaping industry has evolved. Disposable vapes typically don’t include instruction manuals. A refillable vape will include a manual, but it won’t explain how to vape for the first time. Either way, you might need a little help with figuring out how to use your Geek Vape before you can really get started.
Learning how to vape is a matter of learning a million little steps that eventually all become second nature once they’re fully ingrained in your mind. In this guide, we’re going to explain everything that you need to know about how to use a Geek Vape – and to make things easier, we’ll split the instructions between disposable and refillable devices. Let’s dive in.
How to Use a Disposable Geek Vape
Popular Disposable Geek Vapes: Geek Bar Pulse, Geek Bar Pulse X, Geek Bar Digiflavor Sky
Disposable vapes are the most popular vaping devices on the market today, making it very likely that the first device you buy when you make the jump from smoking to vaping will be a disposable vape from Geek Vape’s Geek Bar or Digiflavor brands.
Disposable vapes have the following benefits.
- They’re already charged and filled with e-liquid, so they essentially require no setup.
- They tend to be much simpler and easier to use than refillable vapes.
Here’s how to use a disposable Geek Vape.
Unboxing and Setting Up
Although a Geek Vape disposable vape doesn’t really have a setup process, you do need to unbox it fully before you can start vaping.
- Remove the device from its box and inner foil pouch.
- Remove and discard the silicone plug or cover that seals the mouthpiece.
- Remove the tape or sticker that covers the device’s bottom airflow hole. There may also be a sticker over the screen.
Vaping and Changing Settings
Vaping is probably the most self-explanatory aspect of using a Geek Vape disposable, which is one reason why disposable vapes are so popular. Here’s what you need to do.
- Puff gently on the device’s mouthpiece to vape. The important thing to remember here is that you should try to avoid using too much air pressure, which can cause your device to gurgle or leak.
- Use the slider on the bottom of the device to adjust the vaping mode and/or airflow. Some popular vapes such as the Geek Bar Pulse use a single slider for both adjustments. In other cases, a vape may have a separate button for changing the vaping mode.
Knowing When to Replace Your Device
It’s time to replace your Geek Vape disposable vape when it’s out of e-liquid. You’ll know this is the case because the device will produce a dry, burnt flavor every time you puff on it. Many modern Geek Vape disposables have e-liquid meters that let you know when you’re nearly out of vape juice. Your device won’t necessarily be completely dry when the meter reaches the bottom, but the meter does provide some warning as to when you’ll need to get a new vape.
Troubleshooting Problems
Another benefit of disposable vapes is that they don’t tend to experience the problems that more complex refillable devices sometimes can. If you do encounter a problem with your Geek Vape disposable, here’s how to fix it.
Blinking
If your device blinks when you puff on it, it means that the battery is dead. Connect the Geek Vape to your computer with a USB cable to recharge the battery. You can continue using the device until it runs out of e-liquid.
Not Hitting
If your Geek Vape isn’t hitting when you puff on it, follow these steps to get it working.
- Make sure that you’ve removed the plug from the mouthpiece and discarded the sticker covering the bottom airflow vent.
- Make sure that the switch on the bottom of the device isn’t in the “Close” position, which turns many Geek Vape disposable vapes off.
- Charge the battery.
- Try puffing a little harder.
Not Charging
If your device doesn’t turn on when you connect it to your computer, it means that the battery isn’t charging. Here’s what you can do to fix it.
- Use a different charging cable.
- Connect the Geek Vape to a different computer or a different USB port on the same computer.
- Make sure that the Geek Vape’s charging port is clean. Remove lint with a toothpick.
How to Use a Refillable Geek Vape
Popular Refillable Geek Vapes: Geek Vape Aegis Q, Geek Vape Aegis B60, Geek Vape Aegis Legend 3
Although disposable vapes are the most popular vapes on the market today, refillable vapes have a number of benefits that make them great choices as well. Here are the two biggest reasons why you might want to use a refillable Geek Vape.
- A refillable vape gives you total control over the flavor and nicotine strength of your e-liquid.
- A refillable vape may cost less over time to use since you don’t need to replace the entire device when it runs out of vape juice.
Unboxing and Setting Up
Compared to a disposable vape, setting up a refillable Geek Vape and getting it ready to use takes a bit longer. Once again, though, this is another case where all of the little steps will quickly become second nature. Here are the initial steps.
- Remove the device from the box and check for a plastic film covering the screen. Remove and discard the film.
- If your Geek Vape uses a glass tank, screw the tank into the threading at the top of the device.
- If your Geek Vape uses a plastic pod, check for a sticker covering the metal contact points at the bottom of the pod. Discard the sticker and push the pod into the chamber at the top of the device.
Filling and Charging
After you’ve put your Geek Vape together, it’s time to get it ready to use. That involves filling the pod or tank and charging the battery. Here’s how to do it.
- If your Geek Vape uses a plastic pod, you’ll probably find a silicone stopper on the top or side of the pod. If the device uses a glass tank, the top of the tank slides or twists off. Fill the tank or pod and close it. It’s important to wait several minutes before vaping when you’re using a new pod or coil, so you might want to do this before you begin charging the battery.
- Connect the Geek Vape to your computer to charge the battery. The device’s screen will let you know when the battery is full. The device will most likely ship with the battery partially charged, so topping it up will probably take around a half hour or less.
Vaping
Once your Geek Vape is put together, filled and charged, you’re ready to start vaping. Here’s how to do it.
- If your Geek Vape has a manual fire button, you may need to turn it on before you can get started. Press the fire button five times to do this. You can turn the device off in the same way.
- Vape by puffing gently on your Geek Vape’s mouthpiece if you have a device without a manual fire button. If the device has a fire button, hold the button down when you puff. As with a disposable vape, use gentle air pressure to prevent the device from gurgling or leaking.
- Your Geek Vape may also have adjustable settings, which you can typically access by pushing the “+” and “-“ buttons on the device or by tapping the fire button a few times to open the menu. These functions will be detailed in the device’s instruction manual.
Replacing the Coil or Pod
You’ll need to change the coil on your Geek Vape when your device starts to taste burnt. How to do that depends on whether you’re using a device with a pod or a tank.
- If your Geek Vape has a pod, remove the pod from the device and pull the old coil out of the bottom of the pod. Push the new coil in. Note that some Geek Vape pods have built-in coils. If this is the case with your device, you’ll replace the entire pod when it begins to taste burnt.
- If your Geek Vape has a tank, remove the tank from the device and unscrew the bottom of the tank. Pull the old coil out of the chamber in the middle of the tank and push the new coil in. Screw the tank back together.
Troubleshooting Problems
Refillable vapes are a bit more complicated than disposables and have a few different things that can potentially go wrong with them. Here’s what you need to know about troubleshooting a refillable Geek Vape.
Not Charging
If your refillable Geek Vape isn’t charging, troubleshooting the problem is essentially the same as we’ve already described in the section on Geek Vape disposables.
- Replace the charging cable.
- Use a different power source.
- Make sure that the charging port is clean.
Not Hitting
This is where troubleshooting a Geek Vape that isn’t working can become a little complicated compared to disposable vapes. If your refillable Geek Vape isn’t hitting, here’s what you should do.
- Make sure that the device is turned on by pressing the fire button five times.
- Make sure that the device is unlocked. Learn how to unlock a Geek Vape.
- Make sure that the battery is charged.
- If you’re using a pod system, make sure that there isn’t a sticker on the bottom of the pod.
- Check for vape juice under the tank or pod and dry it fully. Learn more about troubleshooting a leaking Geek Vape.
· Replace the coil or pod if the issue persists.
Burnt Flavor
If your refillable Geek Vape produces a burnt flavor, here’s what you should do to fix it.
- After you replace the coil or pod, wait a bit longer before vaping. It usually takes at least five minutes for the e-liquid to fully absorb into a fresh coil.
- If your Geek Vape has adjustable wattage, the power level may be too high. Decrease the wattage significantly and try vaping again.
- If you’ve been using the same pod or coil for a while, it’s probably time to replace it. Learn more about how long the coil lasts in a Geek Vape.
