Disposable Vape Not Hitting

Disposable Vape Not Hitting

The most common problem that you’ll have with a disposable vape is that it isn’t hitting. Maybe the light blinks when you inhale, but no vapor comes out. Maybe nothing happens at all when you inhale. There are several reasons why your vape might not be hitting, and we’ll begin with the most likely one.

Out of E-Liquid

The most common reason why a disposable vape stops hitting is because it’s simply out of vape juice. Modern disposable vapes have enormous e-liquid capacities, and that allows them to last potentially up to thousands of puffs. The key phrase here, though, is “up to.” If you’re constantly chain vaping and aren’t really monitoring your usage, your disposable vapes may run out of e-liquid sooner than expected. Learn more about how long a disposable vape lasts.

Battery is Dead

If your disposable vape has a smart screen or an indicator light, it can tell you when the battery is dead. If your device has a light, it’ll blink when you puff on the device. If it has a smart screen, the screen will read “0%.” The good news, though, is that almost all modern disposable vapes are rechargeable. You can connect the device to your computer to charge the battery.

There are a few disposable vapes that don’t have USB ports. If your device doesn’t have a charging port, the battery isn’t rechargeable. In this type of vape, though, the device is designed to run out of e-liquid and battery power at about the same time. If you have a non-rechargeable disposable vape that blinks when you puff on it, it’s time to replace the device.

Airflow Sensor Isn’t Sensitive

A disposable vape uses an airflow sensor to detect when you puff. Sometimes, a disposable vape that doesn’t hit isn’t working because the airflow sensor isn’t sensitive enough or because the sensor is blocked by condensation inside the device. If you cover one of the device’s intake vents with your finger while puffing, you’ll increase the pressure of the air flowing through the disposable vape. That may get the puff sensor working again.

A disposable vape’s airflow sensor can also stop working if your vape is clogged, which is what we’ll discuss next.

Disposable Vape Is Clogged

Your vape can stop hitting if it’s clogged, which usually happens if you’re puffing too hard. You can tell your device is clogging because you’ll start to hear a gurgling or bubbling sound when you vape. You might even get a splash of e-liquid in your mouth.

The bad thing about a clogged disposable vape is that the device’s entire airflow system is interconnected. If there’s so much vape juice in the airflow channel that you can actually hear gurgling, some of the juice is bound to make its way to the puff sensor – and the sensor could get stuck as a result.

Try tapping your vape against your hands a few times to unstick the sensor. If that doesn’t work, blow hard through the mouthpiece a few times. In the future, you can avoid clogging your vape by puffing less firmly. If the light turns on, you’re puffing hard enough.

Disposable Vape Has Never Worked

If you have a new disposable vape that has never worked, the first thing that you should do is check to make sure that you’ve unboxed it correctly and set it up for use. In many cases, a disposable vape will ship with a plug inside the mouthpiece and a sticker over the airflow vent to prevent leaking or unwanted activation inside the package. You’ll need to remove and discard both of those things before using the device.

Some disposable vapes have power buttons or switches. The Geek Bar Pulse and Pulse X, for instance, both have switches. If you’re using one of those devices, you’ll need to move the switch out of the “Close” position before your vape will work. If your device has a button, try pushing and holding the button to see if the device turns on.

If you’re unable to get your device working by following the above steps, it’s possible that the battery is dead. Try connecting it to your computer with a USB cable and see if it turns on.

Disposable Vape Weak Hits

Disposable Vape Weak Hits

If your disposable vape is giving you weak hits, one potential reason is that the nicotine strength simply isn’t right for you. Consider buying a device with a higher-strength e-liquid next time. If the device worked in the past and has suddenly become less satisfying, though – or you simply want to get a more intense hit from the disposable vape that you have – these tips may help.

Block the Airflow Vent

A moment ago, we suggested partially blocking your device’s intake vent to increase the air pressure. Covering the vent with your finger also has another effect: It reduces the cooling effect of the incoming air, thus making the vapor warmer and more intense. Give it a try if your device isn’t giving you those big, satisfying rips that you like.

Break Air Bubbles

If you have a pod-based disposable vape, you might get weak hits if air bubbles form around the pod’s wicks. Tap the device gently against your hand to break the air bubbles. After giving the wicks a few seconds to get wet, you should get some nice hits again.

Give Your Vape a Moment to Rest

Many disposable vapes store their e-liquid in a fabric-based filler material. As you vape, absorption causes the e-liquid on the outside of the fabric to move in toward the coil. If you’re chain vaping, though, you’re not giving the e-liquid a chance to absorb. Try a slower vaping pace. The cotton near the atomizer coil needs to be wet for your device to produce a satisfying hit.

Disposable Vape Burnt Taste

Disposable Vape Tastes Burnt

Is your disposable vape giving you a burnt taste? That’s a possible sign that you need to slow down. Most disposable e-cigarettes lack any kind of temperature control functionality. If you maintain such a fast vaping pace that you’re continually vaping before the wick has a chance to absorb more e-liquid, you may burn the wick. Slow down.

If you’re already maintaining a slow vaping pace and are getting a burnt flavor every time you hit your vape, your device might be out of vape juice. Set the device down for several minutes to allow the wick to absorb more juice; you might get a few more puffs out of it. Otherwise, it’s time for a new vape.

Disposable Vape Gurgling or Leaking

Is your disposable vape gurgling or leaking? The most likely cause is that you’re using too much air pressure when you puff. You’re sucking excess e-liquid into the device’s chimney or atomizer coil. From there, the e-liquid will end up in one of two places: in your mouth or dripping out of the device’s air intake vent. Both scenarios are equally unpleasant, so puff with gentle air pressure to keep the e-liquid where it belongs.

Can You Recharge a Disposable Vape?

You can safely recharge a disposable vape only if it has a USB port. If your device has a charging port, you can charge it by connecting it to your computer. Most of the best disposable vapes are rechargeable. If you’re using a vape without a charging port, it’s finished when the battery dies.

The thing that makes disposable vapes what they are – and the thing that makes them so cheap – is the fact that they’re designed for short-term use. If you’re looking for a vaping device that you can use more than once, we suggest taking a look at the best pod vapes on the market today.

Can You Refill a Disposable Vape?

It is technically possible to refill a disposable vape. This is a case, though, where performing the act is such a massive amount of trouble that there’s no sense in even bothering. Convenience is one of the biggest benefits of disposable vapes. If you want to refill your vaping device, you should buy a device designed for that.

If you still want to try refilling your disposable vape, you’ll need to disassemble it. With most disposable vapes, that involves using a tool such as a vise grip to squeeze the device at the point where the two halves meet. This causes the vape to split, exposing its inner components. Open the device carefully and locate the e-liquid container inside it. Add vape juice until the wick inside the container is well saturated and snap the device back together. If the procedure works, you should be able to continue using your vape as normal until you’re no longer happy with the flavor quality.

Try One of These Reliable Disposable Vapes

If you find yourself consistently experiencing problems with your disposable vapes despite following the tips in this guide to the letter, it’s possible that you need to switch to a more reliable brand. Here are a few of the best regarded vapes on the market today.

Lost Mary MO20000

Speaking of huge flavor selections, the range of 122 Lost Mary flavors is perhaps the biggest that we offer from any brand here at Vape Juice. Creative flavor design is, in fact, one of the main reasons why Lost Mary has become one of the world’s most popular vape brands – and the current flagship in the company’s lineup is the Lost Mary MO20000.

Lasting up to 20,000 puffs, the Lost Mary MO20000 is one of the few disposable vapes on the market that gives you full wattage control and allows you to vape at any power level ranging from 13-25 watts. Between the impressive level of control and the huge animated display, this is another device that makes the industry’s new direction clear – more and more, today’s disposable vapes are all about offering the maximum amount of power in the smallest and most convenient package possible.

Foger Switch Pro

The Foger Switch Pro is easily the most advanced disposable vape on the market today, and it's probably unlike anything you’ve ever used before because it has two components rather than one. The first component is the pod, which is also available separately. The second component is the magnetic dock, which allows you to control the device and also charges the battery in the pod.

That’s right – the Foger Switch Pro isn’t a traditional pod system because the “pod” has an internal battery and actually functions as a vaping device on its own. You can use the sleek pod on its own while you’re out and about and leave the larger dock at home if you like. Since the dock is reusable, you can also save money by buying just the pods in the future.

Another aspect of the Foger Switch Pro that we really like is the design of the pod itself. Most disposable vapes are opaque on the outside, which means there’s no way to know how much e-liquid you have left unless your device has a screen. The Foger Switch Pro has a clear tank and doesn’t leave anything open to question. Want to know if you’re running out of vape juice? Just take a look.

EB Create PI7000

There are two ways to make a disposable vape that’s reliable. It can be extremely well made, or it can be simple. The EB Create PI7000 is both. This vape has a pocket-friendly design that’s gently sloped at the edges to create a shape that’s much smaller than you’d think it would be for a vape with 17 ml of e-liquid. Though it’s only marketed as a 7,000-puff vape, you’ll ultimately get the same amount of use out of it that you’d get with most competing vapes because most of those devices have around 17 ml of vape juice as well.

The EB Create PI7000 is completely simple to use; just remove it from the box and start puffing. When the light blinks, it’s time for a recharge. We also love the PI7000’s creative flavor selection, which includes a number of unique options like Champagne Strawberry Ice Cream, Lemon Rum and French Kissing. These are definitely new flavor profiles that you haven’t experienced a million times already, which really adds to the fun.

Fryd Vape

The Fryd vape is another device that doesn’t advertise a huge number of puffs but nevertheless has a very generous e-liquid supply of 17 ml and lasts as long as just about any other vape. The Fryd vape has a smart screen as you’d expect from a modern vape, but it’s a small display tucked into the corner of the front panel – which means that it’s lighter on battery usage than the screens on some other vapes. Although the screen is discreet, the rest of the device definitely isn’t. You’ll love the Fryd vape if you enjoy bright colors.

You’ll also love the Fryd vape if you enjoy bold flavors, which is a feature that has given the Fryd brand plenty of notoriety. Some of our favorite Fryd flavors include Banana Ice, Cherry Berry and Peach Ice.
