Although less than a year passed between the releases of the Uwell Caliburn G3 and Caliburn G4, it probably feels a lot longer to many Caliburn fans because of how quickly the capabilities of small vapes have changed since then. Even on fairly basic devices, people expect features like color displays and variable power. When those types of vapes began to hit the market in 2024, the Caliburn G3 very quickly looked quite out of date. The new Caliburn G4 is here to fix that problem, and we think that people are really going to like it.
The Uwell Caliburn G4 has the same pocket-friendly shape that you’ve always loved in the Caliburn series, and it has a new set of features designed to help it rocket back to the top of the charts as everyone’s favorite small pod system. Here’s what you need to know about it.

How Much Does the Uwell Caliburn G4 Cost?

The Caliburn G4 costs just $23.49, which is an amazing value for such an advanced vape. As popular as the Caliburn series is, you might assume that Uwell would charge more for it since existing Caliburn fans will buy the latest device at almost any price. Since Uwell kept the price low, though, the Caliburn G4 is a great entry point for people who have no prior experience with this series.
The Caliburn G4 kit includes the device along with two pods. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include a charging cable. The Caliburn G4 is compatible with Caliburn GPP pods and with Caliburn G3 pods.
Also in the G4 series is the Caliburn G4 Mini, which costs even less at $11.49 and is essentially a smaller simplified version of the Caliburn G4. We’ll discuss the differences between the two devices shortly.

Uwell Caliburn G4 Features

Full-Color Screen
Without a doubt, the most prominent new feature of the Caliburn G4 is the bright full-color display that immediately makes the Caliburn G3 look very out of date. The screen shows:
- The device’s current wattage
- The resistance of the installed pod
- The battery’s charge level
- The screen’s brightness level
- The current vaping mode
- The puff count since the last reset
The reason why the screen is such a big selling point for the Caliburn G4 isn’t just because it’s a new feature – it also really makes the device stand out visually. It’s recessed slightly into the body of the device. Combined with the slight blurring effect in some of the screen’s three selectable themes, it almost gives you the impression that you’re looking at an old-fashioned CRT. The screen’s color palette is also coordinated with the huge selection of colors that are available for the Caliburn G4, creating an extremely polished overall appearance. It’s a great screen, especially for such a small device.
If you don’t want your device to display colorful animations while you vape, that’s not a problem because one of the three themes is monochrome.
New Vaping Modes

The Caliburn G4 is also unique because it offers two vaping modes that allow you to customize your experience beyond simply choosing your wattage. The two modes are:
- Storm Mode: In this mode, the Caliburn G4 applies an extra burst of power at the beginning of your puff to maximize the vapor production and flavor.
- Waves Mode: In this mode, the Caliburn G4 applies power in brief waves to allow for longer puffs without any burning or harshness.
You’ll configure the device by selecting your preferred wattage and then choosing the mode. It’s a bit like the “Soft,” “Normal” and “Hard” preheating modes available on many vape mods.
In addition to choosing your wattage and vaping mode, you can also customize your experience with the Caliburn G4 by adjusting the airflow. The pod has airflow holes of two different sizes on the bottom, and you can switch between the two holes by removing and rotating the pod. You can then make fine adjustments by moving the airflow slider on the side of the device.
Between the new vaping modes and the fact that the airflow is adjustable via two methods, the Caliburn G4 is easily one of the most configurable small vapes on the market.
New Pod Design

The device itself isn’t the only thing that’s new about the Caliburn G4 because Uwell has also introduced an entirely new pod for this vape. The Caliburn GPP pod uses an ultrasonic weld to enhance the bottom seal and provide leak resistance. It also has a redesigned U-shaped airflow channel that helps to provide smooth hits with less air resistance. The GPP pod is available in resistances of 0.4, 0.6, 0.9 and 1.2 ohm, and it's also available in both top-filling and side-filling varieties. The kit includes side-filling pods with resistances of 0.4 and 0.9 ohm.
If you have a supply of older Caliburn G3 pods, they’ll work with the Caliburn G4 as well.
Caliburn G4 vs. G4 Mini Comparison

If you’re thinking about buying the Caliburn G4, you’ll probably want to know how it compares to the less expensive Caliburn G4 Mini. Here’s an overview.
- The Caliburn G4 Mini doesn’t have a screen, adjustable wattage or selectable vaping modes. It does have adjustable airflow.
- The Caliburn G4 Mini has the same maximum power of 35 watts, but the output is determined automatically based on the resistance of the installed pod.
- The Caliburn G4 and G4 Mini are both compatible with the same pods.
- The Caliburn G4 Mini doesn’t have a fire button and supports puff-based firing only.
- The Caliburn G4 Mini has a lower battery capacity of 1,100 mAh, whereas the Caliburn G4 has a higher battery capacity of 1,300 mAh.
Caliburn G4 vs. G3 Comparison

If you’re currently using the Caliburn G3, is it worthwhile to upgrade to the G4? Our short answer is “absolutely,” and here’s a brief list of the reasons why.
- The Caliburn G3 has a small monochrome display, and the Caliburn G4 has a much larger color display.
- The Caliburn G3 has a maximum power of 25 watts, and the Caliburn G4 operates at up to 35 watts.
- The Caliburn G3 has a battery capacity of 900 mAh, and the Caliburn G4 has a capacity of 1,300 mAh.
- The Caliburn G4 looks drastically more stylish and modern.
Taken individually, these four enhancements are basically incremental and might not feel all that dramatic on their own. Together, though, they really add up to a device that feels drastically better in every way. If you’re currently using the Caliburn G3, the G4 is definitely a worthy upgrade.
Why Isn’t the Caliburn G4 Fire Button Working?

The most common problem that people encounter with the Caliburn G4 is that the fire button seems to stop working, which means that the device only fires when you puff on it. This happens because the Caliburn G4 has a lockable fire button. When the button is locked, the device only fires via the automatic airflow sensor. Press the fire button twice to unlock it.
The Caliburn G4 has a design that’s very user friendly and intuitive overall. The choice to use a double-click to lock and unlock the fire button is a bit of a shortcoming, though, because it’s so easy to press the button twice accidentally when you’re just trying to vape.
Uwell Caliburn G4 Review: Our Expert Perspective

Since the launch of the Caliburn series, Uwell has released so many new devices – and spaced them so closely together – that the improvements from one generation to the next rarely feel that dramatic. Often, it’s just a matter of buying the latest device in the series after your current one dies.
The Caliburn G4 feels like a much more dramatic upgrade in comparison. Between the drastically improved appearance and the fact that the Caliburn G4 produces so much more vapor than any previous device in the series, it’s hard to imagine any Caliburn fan not wanting to grab the Caliburn G4 right away. We imagine that it’ll bring a lot of new users into the Caliburn fold as well.
