Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko Review

The Uwell Caliburn series was the first globally popular series of refillable pod vapes. Devices in the Caliburn series have been in continuous production since 2018, and the series now includes more than 25 vapes in total.

As the series has expanded, though, it has slowly moved away from its initial goal of providing a simple, satisfying and user-friendly solution for beginning vapers. The Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko is a change of pace from those more advanced devices, and it returns the series to its original roots.

It’s a simple puff-activated vape with no settings to adjust. It’s extremely small and portable, and it even takes some design inspiration from recent disposable vapes with its stylish mini-box shape. At the same time, though, the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko is compatible with all Caliburn G3 pods, and that gives you the ability to customize your experience to a certain extent since the pods are available in different resistances.

In short, the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko is just about as perfect of an introduction to vaping as you could possibly hope for – and in this review, we’re going to tell you everything you need to know about it.

How Much Does the Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko Cost?

Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko Colors

The Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko costs just $14.99 and is available in six great colors. The kit includes the device along with one pod and an instruction manual. You’ll need to provide your own USB-C cable to charge the device. Since vape pods can sometimes burn out unexpectedly, we strongly recommend adding at least one box of Uwell Caliburn G3 pods to your order. The Caliburn G3 Lite Koko works with all Caliburn G3 pods, which cost $10.95 per box and are sold in boxes of four.

If this will be your first vape, you’ll also want to buy at least one bottle of vape juice. Being a refillable device, the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko will work with any type of e-liquid and any nicotine strength. If you’re not sure what to buy, we suggest starting with nicotine salts.

Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite vs. G3 Lite Koko: What Are the Differences?

Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite

There are two devices in the Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite series: the original Caliburn G3 Lite and the G3 Lite Koko. The G3 Lite and G3 Lite Koko have similar design philosophies in that they’re intended to be simple and straightforward solutions for beginning vapers. They do have some differences, though, and understanding those differences can help to ensure that you’ll buy the right device for your needs.

  • The Caliburn G3 Lite Koko is the newer of the two devices, and it has a slightly more refined and stylish appearance.
  • The Caliburn G3 Lite Koko has a built-in lanyard loop that allows you to wear the device around your neck if you like.
  • The Caliburn G3 Lite costs a bit less than the G3 Lite Koko -- $9.95 as opposed to $14.99.
  • The two devices have the same battery capacity of 1,200 mAh and the same maximum output power of 25 watts.
  • Both devices work with all Caliburn G3 pods.
  • Both devices include just one pod and no charging cable.

Overall, the Caliburn G3 Lite and G3 Lite Koko have basically the same performance and technical capabilities. You might like to choose the G3 Lite because it costs less, or you could simply choose your device based on which design you prefer.

Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko: Features

  • The Caliburn G3 Lite Koko is designed for maximum simplicity. Using it should feel basically self-explanatory to you even if you’ve never vaped before.
  • The design of the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko takes full advantage of the device’s small size, right down to the fact that the device has a built-in lanyard loop for easy carrying.
  • Despite the small size, recent advancements in energy density allow the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko allow the device to have a battery capacity of 1,200 mAh. For most people, the capacity should be sufficient for a full day of vaping – perhaps even longer – without pausing to recharge.
  • The Caliburn G3 Lite Koko works with all Uwell Caliburn G3 pods, and the pods range in resistance from 0.6 to 1.2 ohm. Although the G3 Lite Koko doesn’t have any onboard settings that you can change, the device adjusts its own wattage automatically based on the resistance of the pod you’re using. With a lower-resistance pod, you’ll get larger, warmer clouds. With a higher resistance, the vapor will be cooler and smoother.
  • Although the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko is a very small vape, it doesn’t compromise on flavor quality and will produce much better flavor compared to a disposable vape. That’s because of Uwell’s Pro-FOCS technology, which allows the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko to use the same type of coil that would normally be reserved for full-sized vape tanks. The Caliburn G3 pod also features a U-shaped airflow channel that focuses the flavor on your palate and helps to prevent leaking.

How to Use the Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko

Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko How to Fill
  • Charging: To charge the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko, connect it to your computer with a USB-C cable. While the device charges, the light pulses in red, blue and green as the battery’s charge level approaches full. When the light is solid green, the device is done charging.
  • Filling: The Caliburn G3 Lite Koko kit may come with a top-filling or side-filling pod. If you have a side-filling pod, you can open it by lifting the filling port’s silicone cover. If you have a top-filling pod, wiggle the mouthpiece until it comes off. Add e-liquid until the pod is nearly full and replace the mouthpiece or cover. Uwell recommends waiting 10 minutes after the first filling of a new pod to ensure that the wick is completely saturated before you start vaping.
  • Vaping: To vape, put the pod into the receptacle at the top of the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko and puff on the mouthpiece. The device produces vapor automatically. Use gentle air pressure. If you hear a gurgling sound, you’re puffing too hard.
  • Changing the Airflow: To switch between the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko’s tighter and looser airflow settings, remove the pod and reverse it.
  • Refilling the Pod: As you use the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko, watch the level of e-liquid in the pod. When the e-liquid drops below the “Min” line, it’s time to refill the pod. If you wait too long to refill the pod, wick damage could occur, causing the pod to burn out prematurely.
  • Recharging the Battery: The indicator light on the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko changes color as you vape to indicate the battery’s current charge level. The colors are green (over 60 percent), blue (30-60 percent) and red (under 30 percent). When the battery dies, the light blinks red 10 times. At this point, it’s time to recharge the device.

Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko Review: Our Expert Perspective

It would be hard to think of any device that would be a better first refillable vape – or a better first vape entirely – than the Uwell Caliburn G3 Lite Koko. It’s extremely small and stylish. It’s designed to deliver great flavor and strong throat hit – especially with nicotine salt e-liquid. It’s so easy to use that you’ll know everything you could possibly need to know about using it after just a few minutes.

The Caliburn G3 Lite Koko also has another huge strength that you don’t get with disposable vapes: It’s designed to deliver a great experience with any type of vape juice and any nicotine strength, which means that you can reduce your nicotine strength over time if you like without buying an entirely new device. That’s very difficult to do with disposable vapes since most of them only come in only one nicotine strength. Do you want to lower your nicotine intake and maybe even eventually switch to nicotine-free vape juice? The Caliburn G3 Lite Koko is the only vape you'll ever need.

If the Caliburn G3 Lite Koko has any drawback, it’s the fact that the kit is a bit spartan compared to some other vape kits. Although keeping the cost low and competing with disposable vapes was obviously a primary goal here, it would have been nice if the kit had included another pod and a charging cable. Since a vape pod can burn out without warning, an extra box of pods is really a necessity.

  • So simple that anyone can get up and running in minutes
