Geekvape Peak Review

As popular as disposable vapes are these days, refillable vapes have some major selling points as well. They give you more freedom for choosing your flavor and nicotine strength, and refillable vapes also make it easy for you to cycle down through lower nicotine strengths if that’s your goal. Most importantly for many, refillable vapes don’t suffer from the same availability issues as many disposable vapes. That’s a big reason why many people are switching from disposables to refillable devices these days, and the Geekvape Peak is intended to capture exactly that target market.

The Geekvape Peak looks a bit like a disposable vape in many ways, and it has an unusually large pod to accommodate vapers used to going days without thinking about how much e-liquid they have left. If you’re thinking about switching to a refillable vape, we think you’ll feel at home with this device right away. The Peak is also a great choice if you’re new to vaping and want to skip the disposables entirely. In this review, we’ll explain why.

How Much Does the Geekvape Peak Cost?

Geekvape Peak Colors

The Geekvape Peak costs just $21.95, and it comes in five colors. You can choose between pastel shades of pink and blue along with plain white or black. The kit is affordable enough that you might even consider buying it in more than one color. That way, you can suit your personal style on any given day. Having two devices also means that you can charge one while using the other, although you won’t have to worry much about charging given this device’s impressive battery life.

The kit includes two pods, although you’ll unfortunately have to provide your own charging cable.

Geekvape Peak Features

Geekvape Peak Reviews

Designed for Maximum Convenience

The main thing to know about the Geekvape Peak is that it’s designed from the ground up to be the most convenient refillable vape you’ve ever used. It all begins with the pod, which has a much larger capacity than you’d expect for a device of this size. It holds 4 ml of e-liquid, while small pod vapes typically hold just 2 ml. If you’re using a higher-strength vape juice, you may find that you can go multiple days without refilling your device. You may also be able to go more than one day without charging the Peak, given its battery capacity of 1,300 mAh.

The Geekvape Peak pod is top filling, which means that you can refill it without removing it from the device. The pod also has adjustable airflow, and you’ll find the control dial on the bottom of the pod. The pod allows a wide range of airflow settings from a tight mouth-to-lung draw to a somewhat restricted direct-to-lung hit. Unless you’re looking for a full-on cloud chasing experience – in which case, you might want to look at our list of the best vapes – you should have no problem achieving your perfect puff with the Geekvape Peak.

Supports Both Automatic and Manual Firing

One of the biggest features of the Geekvape Peak is something that you might not notice right away if you’re new to vaping – but it’s actually quite rare among small vapes in this price range. That feature is the fact that it supports both automatic inhale-based and manual button-based firing. Most inexpensive vapes support inhale-based firing only, and very few support both firing styles.

Why is it such a big deal to have a vape that supports both automatic and manual firing? It’s important because you might be new to vaping – and you can’t know which firing style you prefer until you’ve tried both.

  • Puff-based firing can be enjoyable because it can make a vape feel a bit more like a cigarette and less like a gadget. There’s a split-second delay before the device activates, though, which means that automatic firing tends to produce smaller clouds.
  • Button-based firing allows you to control exactly when your device starts and stops firing, and it eliminates any delay because you can hold the button before you begin inhaling. You’ll get bigger clouds if you use the manual fire button.

How to Use the Geekvape Peak

The Geekvape Peak includes a printed instruction manual that does a good job of walking you through the basics of using the device. If you haven’t purchased the Peak yet, though, it might be helpful for you to have an idea of what your experience will be like. Here’s a quick walkthrough explaining how to use the Geekvape Peak.

Charging

To charge the Geekvape Peak, connect it to your computer with a USB-C cable. Unfortunately, this kit doesn’t include a charging cable; that means you’ll need to use your own. The light pulses red when the battery is low, and the color changes to green when the battery is nearly full. When the light is solid green, the Geekvape Peak is fully charged.

Filling

Geekvape Peak How to Fill

To fill the Geekvape Peak pod, use your fingernail to open the silicone stopper at the top of the pod. Add your e-liquid through the filling hole, leaving just a little room for the stopper at the top of the pod. Close the pod and wait several minutes before vaping to ensure that the wick is fully saturated. You’ll need to wait before vaping each time you fill a new pod for the first time.

Vaping

The Geekvape Peak supports both inhale-based and button-based firing, so you can vape in two different ways.

  • You can inhale through the pod’s mouthpiece. The Geekvape Peak detects the airflow and turns on automatically.
  • You can inhale while holding the fire button. Release the fire button when you’re done inhaling.

When you use the Geekvape Peak or any other vaping device, remember that you should always use gentle air pressure. If you hear a gurgling sound, you’re probably inhaling too firmly. Using too much air pressure can cause the pod to leak.

Adjusting the Airflow and Power

To change the tightness or looseness of the draw, remove the pod from the Geekvape Peak and twist the dial on the bottom of the device. You’ll see the airflow opening become larger or smaller as you turn the dial.

You can also adjust the Geekvape Peak’s vaping characteristics by changing the power level. The Peak has three available power levels, and you can switch between them by clicking the fire button three times. The three levels are Low (white LED), Medium (blue) and High (green).

Replacing the Pod

As you use the Geekvape Peak, you’ll notice that the flavor quality will gradually change. As residue from your e-liquid collects on the pod’s heating coil, the flavor will start to become smoky and burnt. When you’re no longer happy with the device’s flavor, it’s time for a new pod. Discard your current pod and replace it with a new one. Don’t forget to wait a few minutes before vaping after filling the new pod.

You can generally expect a Geekvape Peak pod to last about a week, although the pod’s lifespan depends partially on your choice of e-liquids. The sweeter your vape juice is, the more quickly your pods will burn out.

Geekvape Peak Review: Our Expert Perspective

The Geekvape Peak is primarily intended for two target markets: people who want to switch from disposable vapes to refillable devices and people who haven’t vaped before but want to skip the disposables entirely. If you fall into either of those categories, we think you’ll agree that the Geekvape Peak is a major success. It offers better battery life and a larger pod capacity than you’d expect with a small vape, and the pod fills from the top for maximum convenience. We especially love the fact that it supports both inhale-based and button-based firing, which is something that you rarely see with a vape costing around $20. Combine those features with Geekvape’s always stellar flavor quality, and we think that the Peak is going to be a big hit.
