Vaporesso Armour Review

Have you ever ruined your vape by dropping it on a floor or sidewalk? You’re definitely not alone there because vapes are often surprisingly fragile. A vape has a lot of delicate components crammed into a tiny space, and it’s easy for those components to be damaged or misaligned if impact occurs. That’s exactly the type of situation that the devices in the Vaporesso Armour series are designed to prevent.

The Vaporesso Armour series consists of four devices: the Armour Max and Armour S (traditional vape mods with tanks) and the Armour G and Armour GS (pod mods). Between the four devices, there’s a perfect fit for any expert-level vaping scenario.

If you’re looking for a durable vape with a huge feature set, you’re going to love the Vaporesso Armour series. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

How Much Do the Vaporesso Armour Vapes Cost?

Vaporesso Armour Price

The Vaporesso Armour series consists of four devices. Here’s how much they cost at the time of writing.

  • Vaporesso Armour Max: Costs $47.49. Includes the Armour Max mod, Vaporesso iTank 2, two coils, replacement glass, tank protector, battery sleeve, charging cable and instruction manual.
  • Vaporesso Armour S: Costs $51.49. Includes the Armour S mod, Vaporesso iTank 2, two coils, replacement glass, tank protector, battery sleeve, charging cable and instruction manual. Also sold in a package including just the mod for $39.49.
  • Vaporesso Armour G: Costs $45.49. Includes the Armour G pod mod, one pod, two coils, charging cable and instruction manual.
  • Vaporesso Armour GS: Costs $43.49. Includes the Armour GS pod mod, one pod, two coils, charging cable and instruction manual.

The four devices in the Vaporesso Armour series fall into two groups. The Armour Max and Armour S are traditional vape mods that use threaded tanks. The Armour G and Armour GS are pod mods that use proprietary pods. They’re not quite as powerful as traditional vape mods, but they’re significantly more powerful than most pod vapes and are totally appropriate for cloud chasing. We’ll discuss the two groups separately to help you understand which device will be the best fit for you.

Vaporesso Armour Max and S

Vaporesso Armour Max S Review

The Vaporesso Armour Max and Armour S are traditional vape mods that use removable batteries (which aren’t included) and glass tanks. They’re compatible with both 21700 batteries and 18650 batteries (using the included sleeve). The devices have essentially the same features, except that the Armour Max obviously has double the battery life since it uses two batteries rather than one. The Armour Max also has a higher maximum power of 220 watts, whereas the Armour S tops out at 100 watts.

Vaporesso Armour Max/S Features

Enhanced Durability

The Vaporesso Armour Max and Armour S are made from a material called thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which has greater flexibility and resiliency than standard plastic. The TPU shell is the thing that gives the devices in the Armour series their extra durability, and you can actually feel that they have slightly rubberized surfaces. Thanks to their durable shells, the Armour Max and Armour S should resist most drops without any permanent damage. Both devices also include silicone sleeves to protect their glass tanks.

Unique Usability Features

The Armour Max and Armour S both have some standout usability features, and you’ve probably never seen some of them in another vaping device before. Here are three of our favorites.

  • The fire button has a unique sliding design that allows it to double as a manual device lock. When it’s in the top position, the device is locked. When it’s in the bottom position, it works as a normal fire button.
  • The battery door is spring loaded, and you can release it by pushing the button on the back of the device. This feature makes battery removal extremely easy, which is perfect if you prefer charging your batteries in an external charger. Just take care not to press the button while the device is facing down.
  • The tank is also spring loaded, and the lid pops open on its own when you press the release button.

New Vaping Modes

The Vaporesso Armour Max and Armour S feature two completely new vaping modes in addition to the standard wattage and temperature control modes. Here’s what the new modes are and how they work.

  • F(t) Mode: This is the default vaping mode on the Vaporesso Armour Max and Armour S. In this mode, the device adjusts its wattage gradually as you vape to provide a wider overall range of different temperatures and maximize the flavor quality without risk of overheating the coil and burning the cotton.
  • Pulse Mode: Vaporesso’s Pulse Mode isn’t the same as the Pulse Mode or Turbo Mode found in many modern disposable vapes. In this mode, the device gives you quick boosts of power during long puffs.

Standard wattage-based vaping is also available with the Armour Max and Armour S for those who prefer full manual control. Vapers have consistently reported that they love the new modes, though, so we encourage you to try them.

Vaporesso Armour G and GS

Vaporesso Armour G GS Review

While the Vaporesso Armour Max and Armour S are traditional vape mods with glass tanks, the Armour G and Armour GS store their e-liquid in proprietary plastic pods instead. This design allows them to be much smaller than the Armour Max and S while providing very similar power. The Armour G and GS have essentially the same features and capabilities. The difference is that the Armour G has a built-in battery with a capacity of 3,000 mAh, and the Armour GS uses a single removable 18650 battery that’s not included.

Vaporesso Armour G/GS Features

Vaporesso Armour G Features

Enhanced Durability

The Vaporesso Armour G and Armour GS are made from the same durable TPU material as we described above in the feature list for the Armour Max and Armour S. If anything, the Armour G and GS might be the more durable of the four devices because they don’t have heavy glass tanks. Plastic vape pods are extremely unlikely to shatter when they’re dropped.

Unique Usability Features

Like the Armour Max and S, the Armour G and GS have some unique usability features of their own that can provide a great enhancement to your experience. Here are three of our favorite features.

  • They have sliding lock switches positioned above their wattage adjustment buttons. Simply slide the switch to the left to prevent unwanted activation when you’re carrying the device in your pocket.
  • They have top-filling pods with heavy silicone stoppers. The stopper lifts up and rotates out of the way to provide easy access to the filling port. The fact that the pod fills from the top also means that you can fill it without removing it from the device, which is always a convenient feature to have.
  • They have a soft leatherette grip that feels a bit like a high-quality car seat. Combined with the slightly curved profile of the device, the soft grip provides a very comfortable hand feel.

Full-Color Screen

The Armour G and Armour GS both have a large full-color screen that’s very easy to read and displays a fun animation while you vape. The screen has three selectable themes.

Vaporesso Armour Review: Our Expert Perspective

We think that the devices in the Vaporesso Armour series are going to be game changers for you if you’re hard on your vapes or do a lot of vaping outdoors. The TPU outer shells of these devices are extremely resistant to accidental drops, and you can feel the durability when you hold any of the Armour vapes in your hand. The TPU material feels almost like a combination of plastic and rubber, and you can actually feel the resilience when you squeeze the device.

Simply having a durable design wouldn’t be enough of a selling point on its own, and that’s why Vaporesso worked hard to give the devices in the Armour series the kinds of features that you’d expect to see in a series of true flagship vapes.

If you’re tired of the limitations of traditional wattage-based vaping, we think you’ll especially appreciate Vaporesso’s all-new F(x) and Pulse vaping modes. They have slightly different approaches, but they’re both designed to overcome the limitations that wattage-based vaping has during long puffs. Both modes allow you to take long, deep puffs and enjoy richly saturated flavors without any unpleasant burning or scorching. Between the new modes and the enhanced usability features, we think you’ll agree that all of the devices in the Armour series provide a truly premium vaping experience.
