Nexa Flex Review

Famous vape brands like Off Stamp and Foger pioneered the idea of a two-part vape with a reusable dock and a disposable pod. Nexa is making a serious play for industry leadership, though, and they’re not going to sit around while other companies get all of the attention. The new Nexa Flex is Nexa’s answer to the new trend of two-part vapes, and it’s not just a vape – it’s an entire platform. Nexa already offers two completely different experiences for the Nexa Flex, and they intend to expand the platform in the future.

If you’re already a Nexa fan, it’s a natural that you definitely need to check the Nexa Flex out – and if you’ve never used a Nexa vape before, the Flex should be your first. In this review, we’ll explain everything that you need to know.

How Much Does the Nexa Flex Cost?

Nexa Flex Cost
  • The Nexa Flex costs $16.95 at the time of writing and is available in six flavors.
  • The Nexa Flex Booster costs $17.99 and is available in 12 flavors.

We’ll talk about the differences between the two versions of the Nexa Flex in a moment, but the important thing to know is that you’ll get the same device regardless of which version you buy. Only the pod is different, and the device works with all Nexa Flex pods.

Nexa Flex vs. Nexa Flex Booster: What’s the Difference?

Nexa Flex vs Nexa Flex Booster

As we explained in this review’s introduction, the Nexa Flex is more than just a vape – it’s an entire platform in which a single device works with all pods in the series. Two different pods are available at the time of writing, but you can count on Nexa to add more if the platform is as popular as most insiders expect it to be. Here’s what you need to know about the two different pods.

  • Nexa Flex Pod: Also known as the Cool Pod. You can identify this pod by the opaque exterior. This pod also has the word “Ice” along with a snowflake icon. The Nexa Flex Cool Pod has adjustable ice levels and lasts up to 30,000 puffs.
  • Nexa Flex Booster Pod: Also known as the Visible Pod. You can identify this pod by the translucent exterior. The Booster Pod lasts up to 40,000 puffs and doesn’t have adjustable ice.

The Nexa Flex Cool Pod can offer adjustable ice levels because it has two e-liquid containers, each with its own coil assembly. The first container has the primary vape juice flavor, and the second has the coolness additive. Since the Cool Pod has two e-liquid containers rather than one, it doesn’t deliver quite as many puffs as the Booster Pod. Both pods contain 18 ml of vape juice in all. In the Cool Pod, though, some of that is the ice additive.

You only need to buy the full Nexa Flex kit once because the device works with all Flex pods. Once you’ve purchased the kit, you only need to buy the pods in the future – and when Nexa eventually releases different types of Flex pods, your device will work with those as well.

Nexa Flex Features

Nexa Flex Features

Disposable Vape with a Traditional Pod-Based Design

The Nexa Flex has a different approach to its design compared to other popular two-part vapes like the Foger Switch Pro and the Off Stamp X-Cube.

  • The pods for the Switch Pro and X-Cube have internal batteries. With one of these systems, the pod can function on its own for brief periods when it’s not connected to the dock.
  • The Nexa Flex is more like a traditional pod system in comparison because the pod doesn’t have a battery and only functions when it’s connected to the device.

Nexa’s approach to the two-part design of the Nexa Flex has benefits and drawbacks. Since the pod doesn’t have an internal battery, you don’t have the option of using it on its own as a miniature vape for brief periods.

The benefits of Nexa’s design, however, are significant.

  • The fact that the pod doesn’t have a battery or other electronic components such as a microprocessor keeps the cost down.
  • Since the pod doesn’t contain a lithium-ion battery, it’s truly disposable. With other two-part vapes, the pod might be referred to as “disposable,” but it isn’t really; you still need to recycle it. Nexa’s design is much more environmentally friendly.

Time will tell which two-part vaping system will win in the end. If you’re the type of person who uses the Foger Switch Pro or Off Stamp X-Cube without ever disconnecting the pod from the dock, though, you’re not even going to notice the fact that the Nexa Flex pod doesn’t have a battery.

Vaping Platform with Room to Grow

Nexa Flex Adjustable Coolness

One of our favorite things about the Nexa Flex is that it isn’t just a vape – it’s an entire platform that Nexa plans to expand in the future. Pods with adjustable coolness are just the beginning. In the future, it’s likely that Nexa will add pods with adjustable sweetness, sourness and more. Whatever the vaping community demands, the Nexa Flex platform should be able to deliver it.

Dark Mode Available

It’s also worth mentioning that, unlike many disposable vapes with built-in light shows, the Nexa Flex actually allows you to adjust the brightness when you want to vape discreetly. When you want to turn the light show off, hold the button at the bottom of the smart display for three seconds. This disables the light show, while the display continues to show the device’s current settings.

What Are the Best Nexa Flex Flavors?

Nexa Flex Flavors

The Nexa Flex debuts with a selection of 18 great flavors that includes some Nexa favorites and some all-new options. If you want to see everything that’s available for the Flex and other Nexa devices, you can read our full list and review of all Nexa flavors. In this article, we’ll just describe a few of the best Nexa Flex flavors.

  • Pink n’ Blue: Available as a Booster Pod or as a Cool Pod. This is an excellent candy vape that delivers the flavors of pink and blue cotton candy at the same time. If you like a vape that offers plenty of sweetness while still maintaining perfect balance, you’re really going to like this one.
  • Peppermint: Available as a Booster Pod. Combining a cool mint base with a bit of lingering sweetness, this is a great peppermint candy flavor that tastes a bit like a candy cane.
  • Sour Apple Ice: Available as a Booster Pod or as a Cool Pod. Combines a sweet-and-sour green apple base with a good amount of menthol coolness.
  • Strawberry Banana: Available as a Booster Pod. Some people think of strawberry and banana as the ultimate combination of fruity flavors because you get the smoothness of the banana and the slight tartness of the strawberry for a perfectly balanced experience.
  • Tobacco: Available as a Booster Pod. Nexa’s tobacco flavor is bold and robust with a touch of sweetness to bring the flavor profile into balance.

If you’re not sure what to try first, we’d have to say that no flavor is more emblematic of Nexa’s greatness than Pink n’ Blue (Booster Pod | Cool Pod). Everybody loves a great candy vape, and this one has enough complexity to keep you interested all day long.

How to Use the Nexa Flex

  • Preparing the Pod: When you first remove the Nexa Flex pod from the package, the tank section of the pod is sealed. To prepare the pod, push the two halves together until they click.
  • Connecting the Pod: Push the pod into the device until the magnets grab it. When the pod is connected, the smart display lights up.
  • Vaping: Inhale gently through the mouthpiece to vape.
  • Changing the Power Level: To change the power level, click the button at the bottom of the smart display. “Norm” or “Turbo” lights up on the screen to signify which power level is active.
  • Changing the Ice Level: To change the ice level, click the button at the top of the smart display. The numeral “0,” “1,” “2” or “3” illuminates on the screen to signify which ice level is active.
  • Dark Mode: To enable the screen’s dark mode, hold the button at the bottom of the smart display for three seconds.

Nexa Flex Review: Our Expert Perspective

The Nexa Flex is a completely unique vaping platform that has the potential to change two-part vapes forever. It’s more environmentally friendly than previous two-part vapes like the Foger Switch Pro since the pod doesn’t have a battery – and many won’t miss the extra battery since they use two-part vapes with the two components connected anyway.

The most exciting thing about the Nexa Flex, though, is the fact that it already has two different pods available and will definitely be getting more. Since the device has two separate adjustment buttons, Nexa has plenty of room for creativity with their future pods. We can’t wait to see what they develop.

Best Points

  • A true vaping platform with two types of pods available and more on the way in the future
  • Adjustable power and coolness (when using a Cool Pod)
  • 18 ml e-liquid supply is generous and should last a very long time

Could Be Improved

  • Nexa fans are definitely looking forward to a larger flavor selection
