Nearly three years after its release, the Geek Bar Pulse remains a juggernaut and is still the most popular vape on the market. That’s created an odd situation for Geek Bar, though, because the Pulse has stayed the same while the rest of the market has continued to evolve. Geek Bar needs to continue pushing the envelope because at any point, some other vape could steal the crown.
With the new Geek Bar Hookah X, they’ve pushed the envelope in a whole new way. Available now at Vape Juice, the Hookah X is the first vape from Geek Bar to feature full wattage control and a stepless airflow adjustment mechanism that takes the device all the way from a tight mouth-to-lung draw to a deep, rich direct-to-lung hit.
They’ve also implemented the power and airflow control in a unique way that we’ve never seen with any other vape.
So, how does it work? In this review, we’ll explain why the Geek Bar Hookah X could be the new world-beating vape that people have been waiting for.

What’s Special About the Geek Bar Hookah X?
If you’re an astute Geek Bar fan, you’ve undoubtedly noticed that the Hookah X has a lot in common with the Geek Bar Pulse X. The two devices look very similar, and they have the same battery capacities, e-liquid capacities and advertised puff counts. What makes the Hookah X truly different comes down to these three things.
- It’s the first Geek Bar with full wattage control.
- It’s the first Geek Bar optimized for full direct-to-lung inhaling.
- It produces the biggest clouds of any Geek Bar.
Just how much of a cloud beast is the Geek Bar Hookah X, exactly? The base power of the device when you first turn it on is 20 watts. That’s the same as the Geek Bar Pulse in Pulse mode, and that’s because the Hookah X is always in Pulse mode. The power only goes up from there – up to a maximum of 40 watts.
How Does the Power/Airflow Adjustment Work in the Geek Bar Hookah X?

How has Geek Bar implemented airflow control and wattage adjustment for the Hookah X? You’re going to feel right at home with it if you’ve used a Geek Bar Pulse or Pulse X because it’s done in much the same way, with a single switch on the bottom of the device. Here’s how it works.
- When the switch is in the Close position, the Geek Bar Hookah X is turned off.
- Moving the switch to the Pulse position turns the Hookah X on. In this position, the device operates at 20 watts.
- From the Pulse position to the far side of the slider, the Hookah X has stepless wattage and airflow control. As you move the switch, the airflow vent gradually opens, and the wattage increases. The screen updates to show the current wattage.
The Geek Bar Hookah X is the first vape from Geek Bar that’s optimized to deliver a full direct-to-lung inhale when the airflow is fully opened, and it bears repeating that the Hookah X produces bigger clouds than any other Geek Bar. The Geek Bar Pulse tops out at 20 watts, and the Hookah X operates at up to 40 watts. That’s a big difference.
Geek Bar Hookah X Flavor Review

The Geek Bar Hookah X debuts with a selection of 10 flavors. You’ll find several Geek Bar flavors that are familiar if you’ve used other devices from this brand, but the Hookah X is also the premiere of a few new offerings. Here’s an overview of the Geek Bar Hookah X flavors available at launch.
| Flavor | Description |
|---|---|
| Bali | This blend of mixed tropical fruits has a mysterious and evocative name, but the mixologists at Geek Bar are quiet about exactly what notes they’ve used. Try it and see what your palate tells you. |
| Berry Ice | Similar to the Mixed Berry Ice flavor. Features a combination of fresh berry notes and a chilly menthol finish. |
| Blueberry Mint | Similar to Blueberry Ice. Bold, juicy blueberry combines with menthol to provide a fruity experience with a cold finish. |
| Double Apple | The people at Geek Bar knew that they couldn’t release a vape with “Hookah” in the name unless it included this classic flavor. Probably the most famous hookah flavor of them all, Double Apple features a blend of sweet red apple and tart green apple for an experience offering perfect balance for any apple lover. |
| Fcuking Fab | A stone-cold Geek Bar classic, Fcuking Fab combines a blend of fruity notes with a sweet candy base. |
| Gum Mint | Tastes like a piece of sweet, minty chewing gum. You’ll love this one if you sometimes find yourself wishing that mint/menthol vapes could have a little extra sweetness. |
| Lemon Mint | Lemon Mint tastes basically like lemonade poured over ice, and you’ll be a big fan if you enjoy a flavor that’s refreshing and provides some balance between sweet and tart aspects. |
| Lush Ice | Watermelon and ice with a candy-like finish. Tastes a little like a piece of watermelon candy that’s spent a bit of time in the refrigerator. |
| Mint | A traditional mint flavor with a smooth base and a good amount of menthol on the finish. |
| Pink Berry | A blend featuring the freshest red berries of summer. You’ll detect a big burst of strawberry and raspberry in this bright and satisfying flavor. |
Can’t decide which flavor to try first? Since this is a hookah-themed vape, we’d feel negligent if we recommended anything other than Double Apple. Even if you’re not usually a lover of apple flavors, there’s really something magical about the balance of this blend.
Geek Bar Hookah X Review: Our Expert Perspective
So, should the Geek Bar Hookah X be your next buy? If you’re one of the millions of devoted Geek Bar fans, that’s going to be an easy “yes.” The Hookah X might look basically the same as the Geek Bar Pulse X, but it’s actually one of the most unique vapes that Geek Bar has created to date. It offers bigger clouds than ever and more adjustability than ever. It’s actually a shame that Geek Bar didn’t give it the “Pulse” name because the Hookah X feels like a true next-generation version of the Pulse and Pulse X.
If you’re not interested in the unique features of the Hookah X, it’s still an opportunity to try a few new Geek Bar flavors that haven’t been available before – and when you have the power set to the minimum level of 20 watts, using the Hookax X is basically the same as using a Geek Bar Pulse X in Pulse mode.
On the other hand, maybe you’re the type of vaper who doesn’t usually use Pulse mode because the extra vapor production is a bit too intense for you. In that case, the Hookah X might not be the right choice for you because Pulse mode is the minimum power setting – not the maximum – with this device. It’s also worth mentioning that despite the claimed puff count, the Hookah X will consume e-liquid about as quickly as a Pulse X that’s always used in Pulse mode.
For cloud chasers, though, there’s really no question that you have to try this device. Have you ever wished that Geek Bars could produce bigger clouds and more intense flavors? Now is your chance to have the experience you’ve always wanted. A lot of people who try the Geek Bar Hookah X will never want to go back.
