Freemax Maxus 3 Review

Freemax is one of the most famous brands in the vaping industry today, and that fame occurred on the basis of one very important technological development: Freemax developed the first sub-ohm tank designed specifically for use with pre-built mesh vape coils. Mesh coils have such incredible benefits and are so much better than traditional coils that virtually every vaping device sold today now has a mesh coil; the technology has even worked its way down to disposable vapes.

Freemax capitalized on the success of its mesh coil vape tank and quickly expanded its product range to encompass almost every segment of the vaping industry – and that’s where this review takes us. The Freemax Maxus 3 is a truly high-end vape mod kit. It includes the latest generation of Freemax’s famous mesh coil tank, and it barely costs more than what you’d pay for the tank on its own. In our view, it would be very difficult to go wrong with this device – and we’re going to tell you why in this expert review.

How Much Does the Freemax Maxus 3 Cost?

The Freemax Maxus 3 kit comes with the M Pro 3 tank and two spare coils.

As we mentioned above, the Freemax Maxus 3 vape kit costs only $54.49, and the average transit time for orders from VapeJuice.com is just 2-5 business days. The kit includes the Freemax Maxus 3 device along with the Freemax M Pro 3 tank, two replacement coils, a bag of replacement parts, a charging cable and an instruction manual. That way, you won’t unexpectedly find yourself without any spare coils if your last coil burns out prematurely.

Our Experience with the Freemax Maxus 3 Mod and M Pro 3 Tank

The Freemax Maxus 3 has easily one of the best screens we've ever seen on a vape mod.

Now that you understand what the Freemax Maxus 3 is and what it can do, it’s time to discuss what the experience is like when you actually use the device – and it all begins with the M Pro 3 tank.

At this point, mesh coils have been around long enough that you’ve most likely used a vape with a mesh coil already. If you haven’t, though, allow us to enlighten you. In short, mesh coils are so good that there’s almost no reason ever to use a vape that doesn’t have one. If you’re still using an old-fashioned tank with a traditional wound coil, though, here’s why you need to upgrade right away.

  • Mesh coils heat up almost instantly, eliminating the long ramp-up time that you experience with traditional coils. You get instant vapor at the touch of a button.
  • Because a mesh coil heats up so quickly, you get bigger clouds and bolder flavors than with traditional coils because you’re inhaling less air.
  • Mesh coils have flatter profiles than traditional coils, so they don’t have hot spots. This typically allows mesh coils to last much longer. That can save you a lot of money in the long run because replacement coils can easily end up costing much more than vape juice if you need to replace your coil every day or two.

One of the biggest selling points of the M Pro 3 tank, in fact, is its extremely long-lasting coil. Although the M Pro 3 works with all Freemax M Pro coils, it’s specifically designed for the company’s new 904L technology. These coils use military-grade 904L stainless steel and tea fiber wicks, so they’re very heat resistant and don’t collect residue as quickly as most vape coils. You can literally use the same 904L coil for weeks with almost no flavor degradation if you’re using a coil-friendly vape juice such as a plain menthol flavor. Heavily flavored or sweetened e-liquids will, of course, cause your coils to burn out more quickly.

In case you haven’t noticed, vape tanks are getting more expensive than ever these days. They’re very complex pieces of equipment, and it’s not cheap to manufacture them. The Freemax M Pro 3 is easily one of the best vape tanks on the market, and the really crazy thing is that the Maxus 3 mod kit costs only a little more than just buying the tank on its own. It’s almost like you’re getting the mod for free, which is a little mind blowing because the Maxus 3 is way too good to be a pack-in product. It’s a great looking device with totally reliable power delivery, and it’s a real vapor beast when paired with a top-notch tank like the M Pro 3.

Freemax Maxus 3 Not Working? Here’s What to Do

The Freemax M Pro 3 is easily one of the best vape tanks on the market today.

One of the shortcomings of most vape mods is that, although they do come with printed manuals, they’re typically a little short on the information that you’ll need if your device isn’t working the way it should. Here’s what you should do if your Freemax Maxus 3 isn’t working.

Not Turning On or Not Vaping

If your Freemax Maxus 3 isn’t turning on or isn’t vaping when you press the button, try these things.

  • Make sure that the device is turned on. You can press the fire key five times to turn the Maxus 3 on and off.
  • Make sure that the batteries are installed in the correct orientation. You should see an error message on the screen if they aren’t.
  • Make sure that the batteries are charged. Once again, you should see an error message if they aren’t.
  • Remove the tank and make sure that the device’s threading is clean.
  • Disassemble the tank and make sure that the coil is twisted all the way in.
  • Install a different coil.

Not Charging

If your Freemax Maxus 3 doesn’t light up when you connect the charging cable, the batteries aren’t charging. Try these steps to fix the problem.

  • Make sure that the batteries are installed in the correct orientation. Once again, you should see an error message if they aren’t.
  • Try a different pair of batteries if you have some. Remember that in a dual-battery vape mod, the batteries should always be exactly matched.
  • Try a different USB cable. It’s possible that the cable you’re using is simply old and worn out.
  • Make sure that there isn’t any lint or dust in the charging port. You can clean the port with a toothpick.

Freemax Maxus 3 Review: Wrapping Up

We spent a lot of time in this review talking about the greatness of the Freemax M Pro 3 tank, but it’s hard not to because this is easily one of the best vape tanks that you can buy today. Freemax is the company that invented the mesh coil tank, so it’s not surprising that the vapor production and flavor quality of this tank are astronomical. The tank would be worth the price on its own.

The Maxus 3, however, definitely isn’t a throwaway pack-in product. With a power range of up to 200 watts and large selection of vaping modes, the Maxus 3 does everything that you could possibly want it to do and does those things with great style. We especially love the screen – which is more legible than just about any other vape mod screen on the market today – and the LED side panels, which offer an incredible level of flexibility for customization by allowing you to choose from 10 different light shows and any color in the RGB spectrum. The Maxus 3 has ample style and substance; what more could you possibly want?

Best Points

  • M Pro 3 tank is arguably the best sub-ohm tank on the market and would be worth the price on its own
  • Great set of features including multiple wattage-based vaping modes that either increase vapor production or conserve battery life
  • Unique side-mounted LED panels with multiple light show options and full RGB color control
  • Bright and very legible TFT screen

Could Be Improved

  • The light show may not be for everyone
